Obama's European vacation

WASHINGTON--Barack Obama will meet with British, French and German leaders as part of overseas travel this summer that will also include stops in Iraq and Afghanistan. On Saturday morning, the Obama campaign, confirming the visits to Europe, said Israel and Jordan will also be part of the swing.

Presumptive presidential nominee Sen. WASHINGTON —- After I raised the issue of opening the closed Obama-Clinton Thursday evening meeting with donors and fund-raisers to the press, the Obama campaign on Thursday afternoon agreed to allow a pool reporte to cover the event.

Pelosi says sexism comes with the territory for women in government

WASHINGTON -- "I'm a victim of sexism myself all the time, but I just think it goes with the territory," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday. Prompting Pelosi's comment at a breakfast with reporters was the question of whether sexism played a significant role in Sen. Hillary Clinton's defeat by presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama.

Obama drops pseudo presidential seal
The Obama campaign didn't see it coming-catching flak for creating a mock presidential, seal with the Obama "Yes we can" slogan in Latin last Friday. The campaign unveiled it at a meeting Obama had with Democratic governors in Chicago. On Monday, the Obama campaign announced that the seal was for one-time viewing only and was retired from duty. Obama still needs big-money donors

WASHINGTON -- Hours after Sen. Barack Obama rejected public financing for his campaign on Thursday after failing to negotiate with rival Sen. John McCain as he said he would, Obama made a stop not publicly disclosed by his campaign: He visited with some of his elite corps of fund-raisers on his National Finance Committee who were meeting in Chicago for briefings and to map fund-raising strategy for the general election.
